Completed - Pasque Hospice
The Kathleen and Michael Connolly Foundation made a grant of £50,000 towards a new in-patient unit.
This was donated through the ‘building for better care’ appeal which aims to secure the future of quality care for those who unfortunately are not able to look after themselves. The in-patient unit (IPU) provides specialised palliative care for the relief of pain and other distressing symptoms, whilst at all times aiming to maintain dignity and patient choice.
Patients are admitted to the In-patient unit for a variety of reasons. Some are admitted for the relief of pain or other symptoms and will return home when the problem has been resolved. Sometimes a short stay in the hospice can make a huge difference to how a patient is feeling. Others may be admitted during the last few weeks of life when it may be more difficult to provide care at home. Patients are cared for by a specialist team of doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists and social workers. The high ratio of staff-to-patients The Pasque has on duty, ensures an excellent quality of service and personalised care for the patient, their family and friends.
"Thank you on behalf of everyone involved at The Pasque Charity for your generous and highly valued support for this important project."
